I'll be spending next week in Chicago and I strategically picked a hotel that was near a Container Store and an IKEA! I'm a huge fan of organization, so these stores totally get me. Sadly I know that many of you struggle with keeping your craft supplies neat and
organized.
A few years ago I was introduced to the Marie Kondo method of decluttering. I managed to complete the first few steps and I really enjoyed my organized underwear drawer for awhile. Over time, I've fallen back into my old habits and my underwear is no longer folded into neat little bundles.
That's not to say I didn't learn anything from her method. She has a saying that an item should "spark joy" when you hold it in your hands. I've found this is very helpful when organizing my craft room. If a stamp set, tool, or paper no longer sparks joy, I remove it from my room. Some items I give away or donate, some I sell, and some I throw away
(gasp!).
By clearing my space and sparking joy, I find that I am more creative and enjoy being in my craft room. I guess you can say decluttering sparks creativity!
So give it a try. Fill your space with supplies that spark joy and get rid of the rest. (and then go buy supplies to organize them....more on this next week!)
Happy Stamping!
