Does the change in season make you think about the upcoming holidays? The holidays remind me about the traditions that make each holiday special. Many of us share similar traditions like eating all the Halloween candy before the big day only to have to go buy more — at least once! Maybe it’s spending time making favorite family recipes for a big Thanksgiving dinner. Or making paper chains, counting down to Christmas with an Advent calendar, or decorating Christmas cookies with the kids before Santa visits. What are your family traditions? I’ll bet most of them center around time spent with your friends and family.
Making holiday treats, cards, and gifts together is a great way to slow down and really get into the spirit of the season. Kids can help create fun and easy little candy holders to share with their classmates using Big Shot dies, Halloween-themed stamps and the adorable Bitty Bat Punch. Thanksgiving baked goods become gifts from the heart when tied with ribbon and festive stamped tags addressed to the teachers, friends, and neighbors for whom you are grateful. Put on your favorite Christmas tunes, make some hot chocolate, and spend an evening with your family making, signing, and addressing Christmas cards. You’ll find the task becomes an event to cherish. I hope that you’ll take some time during the holidays to savor the simple joys. Share time with those you love, create memories, and make heartfelt and personal gifts. The next round of stamp club will run September 2010-June 2011. A $15 minimum purchase is required each month. We will be meeting on the third Sunday of the month from 2pm-4pm. Projects will be varied and a bit more advanced..lots of techniques, fun 3-d items, scrapbook pages, and more! Club will be limited to 10 people, so reserve your spot now.
